ERCO Zigbee Control Unit

This Zigbee connectivity module has been specifically designed for ERCO luminaires in close collaboration between ERCO and ubisys. It brings ERCO lights, such as the Eclipse series, into Zigbee networks. As an add-on module, it can be added to already deployed light fixtures; as an integral part of light engines it provides Zigbee connectivity out-of-the-box.

The connectivity module is a smart plug & play solution. It learns the capabilities of the attached light engine, including color capabilities, vendor and model names and other meta data, and maps this information to the Zigbee data model. As a result, the light is always properly represented according to its capabilities, i.e. dimmable light vs. tunable white light vs. full color light.

This module enables word-class IoT connectivity using the predominant wireless mesh standard for lighting. Thanks to Zigbee’s broad interoperability, ERCO lights equipped with the Zigbee Control Unit seamlessly integrate with established eco-systems and platforms like Amazon Alexa, Philips Hue, IKEA Trådfri, ubisys G1, and many, many more.

The solution is a unique combination of the generic M7B-Q95 hardware module and tailor-made firmware. Being a member of the ubisys BLEND/Z family, the hardware supports Zigbee and Bluetooth Low Energy concurrently, paving the way for intriguing new use cases. It is certified by UL to comply with FCC, IC and CE regulations.
