Dear Members,

Reflecting on the progress made over the past four months, I am excited to share some significant updates and developments within our Alliance.

Firstly, I am proud to announce the establishment of our Japan Interest Group. This newly formed Group, comprised of dedicated volunteer Members, will focus on Alliance technologies and the rapidly evolving IoT market in Japan. The Group’s mission is to raise awareness of our activities, actively participate in Japan-based IoT events and programs, and propose technical updates tailored to Japan’s regional requirements. This initiative will not only promote innovation and foster meaningful dialogue, it also will inspire collaboration among our Members, further strengthening our presence in the region.

In July, our Connectivity Standards Alliance Member Group China (CMGC) hosted the world’s first Matter Open Day in Guangzhou, China. The event was a resounding success, with more than 40 Member companies showcasing the latest Matter designs, products, solutions, and user experiences. We were thrilled to see an impressive turnout of over 450 attendees, demonstrating the growing interest and momentum behind Matter in the region. Let me offer a heartfelt thank you on behalf of the Alliance to everyone who participated and contributed to the event’s success.

In September, I had the privilege of attending the historic 100th anniversary of IFA in Berlin, where over 30 Alliance Members showcased their innovative smart home solutions. This milestone event provided a remarkable platform for Members to highlight their cutting-edge products and demonstrate the value and impact of the Alliance’s standards in shaping the future of connected living. While in Berlin, our CEO, Tobin Richardson, and other industry leaders engaged in insightful discussions on the importance of collaboration for a sustainable smart home with Matter. This event underscored the crucial role of our collective efforts in driving forward smart home adoption and its potential to drive sustainability goals for the future of the value chain.

As we continue to advance our mission, I want to express my deepest gratitude to each of you for your ongoing commitment and contributions. Your active involvement and support are what make these achievements possible.

Sincerely,

Musa Unmehopa
