Introducing Tuya to the Alliance
This past winter, the Zigbee Alliance welcomed Tuya Smart, one of the worlds leading IoT platform and service providers, as a Participant-level member to drive interoperability and accelerate the adoption of Zigbee technology. Tuya is a global AI+IoT developer and a leading voice-driven artificial intelligence (AI) interactive platform that brings smart products to life for consumers, manufacturing brands, OEMs, and retail chains. They provide a one-stop AI+IoT solution, covering hardware connection, cloud services, AI, and app software development. Tuya also helps manufacturers upgrade their technology and business models so they are able to deliver smart devices to meet consumer demand. In December 2018, Tobin Richardson, President and CEO of Zigbee Alliance, visited the Tuya Shenzhen branch and had an in-depth conversation on future cooperation between the two parties with the Chairman of Tuya, Leo Chen.

We expect Tuyas strong technical resources and proven IoT-enabling services will help more companies adopt Zigbee Alliance standards and upgrade their products to smart devices and participate in the rapid development of the Internet of Things, said Richardson. In January at CES 2019, Tuya announced two new AI security solutions for the smart home and office: the AI Video Doorbell and the AI Pad. During CES 2019, Tuya also won the AI + IoT Technology Innovative Platform award, which recognized their outstanding contribution to the industry. They also hosted a panel discussion with Richardson, Yang, and Jiao Long, VP from Simon Asia Pacific Region Management Center. The discussion focused on the future of smart life, the role of AI in the smart home, and the AI + IoT global market. Tuya created an OS-level Plug and Play solution to help companies develop smart devices and sell them globally through a standardized system. Zigbee is a mainstream open standard that connects devices, an indispensable part of our hardware connection. We are pleased to join the Alliance and work with the Alliance members to quickly advance the consumer IoT scenario,” said Chen.

Tuya is equipped with an experienced team of Zigbee developers composed of several technical experts. This team has allowed Tuya to successfully develop a variety of Zigbee products. They have already been able to provide a complete Zigbee solution for gateways and end devices. The gateways can support one-touch network formation, batch join of end devices, project deployment, and scenario configuration. Joining the network with an end device takes only ten seconds. Tuyas Zigbee solution can set up a network with over 200 nodes with more than 60 scenes, covering a long range and has a sound synchronization mechanism. Hundreds of Tuyas customers are now using Zigbee technology on the Tuya platform, including many well-known domestic brands such as Honyar, Delixi, and Rhino. This brings Zigbee to key markets such as home improvement and real estate. The Zigbee Alliance is eager to watch Tuyas success with Zigbee technology grow as they become involved in membership.
