Senior or Staff Accountant (Remote)

Overview

The Connectivity Standards Alliance, a 501(c)(6) standards development organization with 600+ members, including the biggest brands and companies in the world, is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented accountant to join our fully remote accounting team. This role is ideal for a finance professional with 5+ years of hands-on experience in accounting and a solid background in Finance or Accounting. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in overseeing and improving day-to-day financial operations including AR, AP, payroll, and month-end close. This individual should possess strong NetSuite and Excel skills, a proactive mindset, and a passion for automation and process improvement. This position reports directly to the Controller.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage full-cycle accounts receivable including invoicing, cash application, and collections
  • Oversee accounts payable to ensure timely and accurate vendor payments
  • Review and support payroll processing and related account reconciliations
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and key general ledger accounts on a monthly basis
  • Prepare and post complex journal entries and support all aspects of the month-end and year-end close
  • Identify and implement process improvements, focusing on simplification and automation
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency of financial data across departments through collaboration
  • Support financial reporting, compliance efforts, and external audits
  • Participate in and/or lead special projects, including systems upgrades or new integrations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a dynamic or high-growth environment
  • NetSuite experience is required
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, and VLOOKUPs
  • Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and general accounting principles
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a remote setting
  • Demonstrated success in identifying and implementing process enhancements and automation tools
  • Exceptional attention to detail and analytical abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
