The GP691 ZigBee Home Automation Communications Controller provides a fully integrated solution for ultra low power wireless communications for smart home appliances.
The GP651 ZigBee Lighting Communications Controller provides a fully integrated solution for ultra low power wireless communications for lighting applications.
Both are compliant with the IEEE Standard 802.15.4, providing robust spread spectrum data communication with a secure encrypted data flow. Their superior Wi Fi interference rejection and antenna diversity offer additional robustness in a crowded wireless 2.4 GHz environment.
The controllers feature a radio transceiver, integrated real-time Medium Access Control processor, integrated microcontroller, RAM and Flash memory, security engine, event scheduler, and an extensive set of peripherals. In addition, the GP651 features a PWM engine to drive 4 synchronous 16-bit Pulse-Width Modulation channels with edge or center alignment for seamless WRGB color generation.
The integrated RF filtering simplifies the RF design complexity enabling very low cost single layer applications using simple PCB antennas requiring no shielding and a minimum number of external components.
Advanced power management features ensure that power consumption is minimized in active as well as in standby states, enabling maintenance free and very small form factor products.
The controllers are capable of running the full stack and application for ZigBee Pro applications, including ZHA and ZLL. Their internal microcontroller can communicate with external devices via UART, SPI or I2C interfaces.
The GP651 is able to listen simultaneously on three different channels while antenna diversity is enabled. This allows for instance the switch that controls the GP651 Lighting device to communicate on a different channel than the main ZigBee network.
