The Alfred ML2 smart mortise lock takes Alfred’s focus on beautiful, design-forward smart locks and applies it to the mortise lock form factor – more specifically the North American ANSI style mortise locks used in commercial buildings, offices, high-end homes and condominiums. With flexibility in adoption at the core of Alfred’s focus and though available as a complete smart lock solution, the ML2 is a retrofittable design which can be easily installed onto most existing mortise locks from major manufacturers, requiring no modification to the mechanical lock itself. This makes the Alfred ML2 the only product of its kind. Adding to this form factor is the near limitless connectivity and access options available. Bluetooth (standard), Zigbee 3.0 (module), Z-Wave Plus V2 [700 Series] (module), Wifi (plug-in bridge with Alexa and Google Assistant certifications and can support multiple locks per bridge), 250 Pin Codes, 250 RFID cards support [MIFARE], unlimited shareable Bluetooth keys (standard), hidden door position sensor (standard), Rechargeable Lithium Ion power pack (standard), 24V hardwire compatible (standard), and allows mechanical key override with virtually any key system in the world (high security or standard). Most of these connectivity options can also be used simultaneously providing multi-layer support, feature sets and back up. Due to the unique and simple retrofit style of the Alfred ML2, the lock manufacturer, trim (lever or knob) style and finish can be chosen completely independently of Alfred itself. This provides designers, builders and end users near limitless design flexibility.
