HCALCS – HAN CONNECTED AUXILIARY LOAD CONTROL SWITCH

The SLS Double Band HAN Connected Auxiliary Load Control Switch (HCALCS) implements the UK Smart Metering Equipment Technical Specifications (SMETS2) and provides a secure means of implementing smart electrical proportional load control using the UK Smart Metering infrastructure. It is capable of connecting via 2.4 GHz or Sub-GHz to a Communications Hub (Zigbee Coordinator) and can be used in standard smart mode for basic switching, or where proportional control is required, in an advanced smart mode where load control information is passed to the electrical equipment being managed. It is IP42 rated and can be either DIN rail or wall / board mounted.

The SLS HCALCS can also be located within an equipment enclosure of an energy management solution, and permits that equipment to securely integrate with the DCC Smart Metering network with no other changes necessary. Typical use cases are EV Charge Points (EVSEs), Battery Storage, Micro Generation, and those systems wishing to implement the British Standards Institute (BSI) Energy Smart Appliance (ESA) Publicly Available Standard (PAS) 1878 for domestic Demand Response. The SLS Double Band HCALCS can also be used in a smaller enclosure to replace legacy UK radio teleswitches in domestic premises or for smart load control in an industrial context.
